Kampala, Uganda - The government of Uganda and the Trinidad and Tobago high commission in Kampala, are scheduled to launch a joint Haiti disaster appeal fund, APA reports.
The fund is meant to raise some relief and recovery funds for Haiti after the12th January 2010 devastating earthquake. The launch is scheduled for Monday in Kampala, sources inform APA.
The Ugandan Minister for Foreign Affairs Sam Kuteesa will represent government of Uganda at the launch. Trinidad and Tobago is a member of the Commonwealth family and hosted the last heads of state and government summit last year. Mr. Museveni handed over the chairmanship of the Commonwealth to the leader of the Trinidad and Tobago. Uganda also enjoys a harmonious relationship with the Caribbean island country which allows Ugandan nationals to visit the island without visas which is also reciprocated for Trinidad and Tobago nationals entering Uganda. -APA |
